I live and paint in Überlingen on the Lake of Constance. A seasoned sailor, I still nowadays like to swap brush and palette for tiller and sheet, to feel the gusts and all that goes along with sailing. Later, back in the studio, light, wind, and water transform into colours. Usually I produce larger scale paintings which invite the viewer to feel “in the picture” and sense the dynamics not just of sailing but also of the painting process.
